"Let us have a Universal Mind that loves and protects all creation and helps all things grow and develop. To unify mind and body and become one with the Universe is the ultimate purpose of our study."
-Koichi Tohei Sensei, founder of Ki Aikido
Following the tenets of the Ki Society, the Cultural School teaches that the aim of Aikido is to move with an opponent and redirect their movement. Ideally, the use of Aikido should result in little or no physical harm to the attacker. The more one is able to calm their mind and the greater they're able to control their own body, the better able they are able to achieve this. Your opponent goes where he wants to go and falls where he wants to fall.
There are many benefits of Aikido, including improved:
- Speed and Coordination
- Mindfulness and Concentration
